Goodbye Mr T

I just had to say a few words on the departure of David Tennant as the Doctor. The BBC and writer Russell T Davies certainly gave D.T. the send off he deserved (& we wanted to see). "The End Of Time" was a fantastic bit of television. Whilst it certainly wasn't faultless, the dialogue and acting between the three leads; David Tennant, Bernard Cribbins and John Simm was superb. Come to think of it, Timothy Dalton was pretty good too!
Furthermore once we'd got past that bit of nonsense with the Master slipping in and out of skeletal mode, the plot fizzed along. The potential return of the timelords (& making them the real villains of the piece) was brilliant. As was the revelation that the tenth doctor's doom would come not at the hands of an enemy, but a loyal assistant. Quite simply magnificent.
Lets hope Matt Smith's Doctor can live up to the role.

Films of the year 2009

Forgive me for leaving this a little late. I mean we've started the new year already! Usually I get around to having a ponder on my films of the year in between Christmas and New Years Eve. I've been a little busy of late. However, I digress. I have now has chance for a bit of a 'chin stoke' and mused over what 2009 had to offer. In order I've preference, I've gone for:
  1. Moon
  2. Let The Right One In
  3. District 9
  4. The Hurt Locker
  5. In The Loop
  6. Slumdog Millionaire
  7. Star Trek
  8. Harry Potter & the Half-Blood Prince
  9. Frost/Nixon
  10. Inglourious Basterds
...and The Turkey Of The Year: it just has to be The Spirit

What do you think? Any fellow film buffs agree?
